20 OF THE BEST FREE STOCK PHOTO SITES

20 of the best free stock photos sites. The best places to get free stock photos for your blog

I love taking photographs for the blog, but I love a good stock photo too. Sometimes you just need the perfect picture for a post and it’s not always one you can take yourself. Especially when you are short of time, need a group shot or something specific.

WHY DO I NEED FREE STOCK PHOTOS?

You might be tempted to just use good old Google images but that could land you in so much trouble, simply linking back to the source is not good enough. You need actual permission from the owner of the image in order to use to use the photo otherwise you could get in serious trouble. There has been cases of where bloggers have been sued!

    I use pixabay a lot, it’s great.

This is such a helpful list, thank you. I’ve used Pixabay but the choice can be limited on certain topics. Also Shutterstock but they all seem to be payable now. This has some great alternatives. #TheList

There’s some of my favourites on there like Unsplash, but a lot I don’t know either. I sometimes find bloggers keen on photography have their own free stock photography. I guess it’s just making sure you know even on the free sites, if you need to credit or not.

Fab list! Though I must admit I’ve stopped using stock photos. Used to use them many years ago when I first started out. At the moment, I use mainly my own photos, however, would also consider using them again if ever I find the need for it:)
