We don’t have a big house and space is very tight, especially as I work from home so creating a workspace has never been a priority. I’ve just simply worked from the kitchen table. However now my cake business, Handmade Queen of Cakes, is expanding and blogging becoming a part of my career focus I really needed to work on creating my workspace.
Space is a key issue in our house, we have found lot’s of ways to create storage and utilise the space we have. In order to fit in a workspace it had to be compact but still be functional and stylish. The bedroom has a strange corner cut out which eats into the space so to make the most of this we bought a tall CD/DVD unit from Argos which fits perfectly so the end of the room is not wasted.
I then chose this compact yet chunky desk from kitoutmyoffice.com to fit up against the wall & unit to maximise the space. I love that even though it’s a small desk it still has functionality with the drawer. It’s small & sleek and fits the room perfectly.
I love the hint of colour, it took me a while to choose from the range of colours and wood effects but I love how the yellow just brightens it up and stops it from looking plain. The design of the legs really add to the luxury feel too.
The desk was actually really easy to put together, the hubby was expecting it to be a nightmare as it came in four boxes. The boxes just kept each section separate, plus the drawer came fully assembled too which was an added bonus.
I’m so happy with my new workspace. I love the quality & design and how it all looks now it’s finished. I finally have somewhere to work, even if the Teenager does keep pinching it to work on his revision and homework but I’ll let him off for that!
