After a long week of work, hospital appointments & general craziness we had a full day off on Sunday and headed off to LEGOLAND Discovery Centre at the Trafford Centre. We’ve been to LEGOLAND Windsor when Brandon was little but even though the Discovery Centre is not far for us it’s not somewhere we’d really considered as a day out, I think more so as we weren’t really aware of what it was all about. (Obvs LEGO but you know what I mean!)
Archie was so excited as soon as we walked through the doors, all the bright colours really caught his attention in fact he was so excited to get in there that I didn’t even take a photo from the outside in daylight hence the dark photo when we left. It still looked fab though with all the bright lights. The Teenager on the other hand was his usual grumpy self & wasn’t impressed, he was annoyed that we made him give up an afternoon with the girlfriend to come with us!
Archie just adored the fact that he could actually touch things, everything was so enticing for the Littlies (and Daddies). This is us going through the ‘factory tour’ that show’s all the machines involved in making LEGO. Obvs not the real machine’s but to the kids it was amazing, they got to see little bricks move along a conveyer belt and through different sections. Dr Brick even got Archie to help out by pushing buttons etc, he loves a good button does our Archie so he was very happy!
The little models were amazing & Archie loved having a good nosy, so did the Teenager even though he wouldn’t admit it. By the time we’d passed through the factory tour which was aimed at the younger ones I think the Teenager was coming around to the idea of being here and had a good look around the models even though he wouldn’t let me take any photos of him.
There is so much to do here, as I said I wasn’t really sure of what to expect but it was so much fun. There are so many different activities to get involved in. There was different areas with so much LEGO to play with, this is us in the LEGO Friends section where the most adorable little girl was up on a stage singing away into a microphone. Archie was just happy build things with his big brother & Daddy. See, Brandon did begin to enjoy it eventually! Even the stools were fun here 😉
Even though Archie couldn’t go on the indoor rides we did have some fun in the soft play area, Mummy decided to go in with him obviously for safety reasons and after all that fun we came out all hot & sweaty with flushed cheeks! After two hours of fun we decided it was time to head home as the Teenager was hungry and Archie was starting to get overwhelmed, but you could easily be there for four hours especially if you have more than one child.
Overall we had a great time and would love to go back again when Archie’s a little older and he can enjoy the rides too, we might just leave the Teenager at home though!
