A SPA DAY AT FISHMORE HALL

As a busy work from home mum I don’t get much time off. I’m either working, looking after the boys, cooking or cleaning, all the usual mama duties. I love my job as a blogger and I love being a mum to my boys but sometimes I just need a break.

I love a spa day but it’s a luxury and not something I get to do very often, so I wasn’t going to turn down the opportunity to review the new Fishmore Hall spa facilities. If you’d rather just watch my video review then pop straight down to the bottom of the post.

I had such a relaxing day with three other bloggers. It makes such a difference being to just lounge around chatting on a Sunday afternoon, rather than stressing about work or getting the school uniforms ready, or in my case stopping Archie from scaling the walls and throwing himself off the couch!

Whenever I go for a spa day I always choose the back massage. I suffer with a bad back anyway plus have such tension in my shoulders that I really should have more regular massages. The hubby is a good one and does rub my back for me when I’m in pain but you just can’t beat a professional massage.

The girls at Fishmore Hall were great. My massage was so relaxing but she still managed to apply enough pressure to work through the tension in my shoulders. As it’s a brand new facility the whole vibe of the place just adds to the relaxation. The treatment rooms are stunning and the beds so comfy, I really felt as though I was going to drift off to sleep. I could barely lift my head after she’d finished and just had to lay there a while.

There’s no pool at the spa but there is a gorgeous steam room and sauna with a lovely relaxation room attached. I was more than happy just sitting about in my plush dressing gown for an hour after my treatment. I’m not the best at doing nothing, I feel like I’m wasting my time and should be doing something else but with no phone signal I was happy just to chill.

The outdoor space is beautiful and private. It’s away from the main gardens to the hotel and overlooks some gorgeous scenery, you really do feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, away from everything. In the summer it would be amazing to sit outside and chill out on the hammock but in the middle of November I was quite happy to go back inside.

I would have loved to try out the outdoor Jacuzzi but I’m just too soft. I need a blanket when I’m sat at home on the sofa so couldn’t bring myself to climb in but if the hubby had of been with me he’d would have been straight in!

After some rest & relaxation it was time for Afternoon Tea. I love that you have the choice of whether to stay in your robes and have the afternoon brought to you in the spa, or you can get changed and go over to the main hotel.

I’ve been to some spa’s where you sit amongst the other guests in your dressing gown to eat. It feels so uncomfortable to be sat around everyone else when you’re not fully dressed so I love the fact you get a choice here.

We opted to stay in the relaxation room and our food was brought to us. The sandwiches were great and the desserts divine. You get a good range and portion size so I left feeling really full and knowing I had to hit the gym the following day!

Overall I had a really great day and would definitely consider going back again. Maybe next time I’ll take the hubby and stay over in the gorgeous hotel too. Have a nosy at the video to see for yourself.
