OUR HALLOWEEN WEEKEND & THE FORBIDDEN FOREST

Archie doesn’t do Halloween. Due to his Autism and speech & communication issues he doesn’t understand what it’s all about. It’s overwhelming & scary for him, everything is different & dark.

We decided not to go trick or treating with him, or to make a big fuss decorating the house but we did decide to go to the Forbidden Forest at the Lowry Outlet in Manchester.

We decided to give the Forbidden Forest a try as we knew it was specifically for the children, and as it was a temporary set up in a shopping centre it wouldn’t be too big, scary or overwhelming for him. Plus we could make a full day of it going shopping and eating out.

I picked up some gorgeous clothes for Archie at the NEXT Outlet. I love NEXT for boys clothes, I recently bought his lot’s from NEXT for his birthday too.

The Lowry had really made an effort for the kids with a Halloween treasure hunt where the kids could collect a map then search for the skulls around the shopping centre and mark them off on their sheet with a chance to win a prize.

There was also pumpkin carving sessions, which we didn’t go to due to Archie’s age but we saw so many children proudly walking around with their little pumpkins.

We did have a walk though the Forbidden Forest, take a look at the video below to see for yourself!

What did you do this Halloween weekend?
