Your bedroom is much more than the place you sleep in each night; it can also act as your own personal retreat, somewhere to relax. While your master bedroom isn’t necessarily a place where you would entertain guests, there is no reason why you can’t have this space looking great. Making a style statement in your boudoir is easy, and here’s how you can achieve impressive results in three simple steps.

Whether it’s a faux fur throw draped across the foot of your bed or a brightly coloured rug positioned on the floor, soft furnishings can help transform your sleeping space. Regardless of the look you’re aiming for, you should find that there are accessories that can complement any theme or style. For example, if your decor taste is modern and contemporary, you could simply go for a pair of sleek and sophisticated window dressings. To take your interior design to the next level, you could use Venetian blinds to create a clean, fresh look or opt for blockout curtains in a bold colour so you can fall asleep in true style. Finding accessories like this is easy too. You could visit your local home interior shop or browse specialist websites such as Curtain World. Soft furnishings can add instant character to a room, so don’t be afraid to experiment with different textures to really mix things up.

It’s likely that the focal point of your bedroom is the bed itself. From the actual frame to the sheets you use, it can be easy to make a decor declaration when you centre your attention on this particular piece of furniture. For a complete style overhaul, you could replace your bed altogether. With so many different models to choose from, finding a frame that suits your personal taste is simple. For example, to create a chic and elegant look in your room, you could opt for a distressed bedstead, or if you’d prefer something a little more understated, you could choose a wooden frame with a natural finish. We love the contrast between our black bed and the bright coloured bedding.

To make the ultimate style statement in your bedroom, you could add some personal touches. Your own individuality can speak volumes when it comes to home decor, so why not embrace your uniqueness and incorporate this throughout your boudoir? From framed photographs of your loved ones to trinkets you’ve collected over the years, being surrounded by your favourite things is a great way to add some personality to your room, I love my hand painted Mr & Mrs.

Happy new year Toni! Welcome back — lovely to have you linking up with us again! 🙂

Love these tips — I keep meaning to spruce our bedroom up but just haven’t had time. I keep changing my mind on the wall colour too!! Dove grey one minute, then navy, followed by blush pink the next!!! Too much to choose from isn’t there!! I need to make a decision and stick to it 😉 #HomeEtc
