Both the hubby & I have really been enjoying the meals I’ve been making and I’ve really started enjoying cooking from scratch. We’re focused and want to keep on track with our Slimming World Meal Plans, I’m loving that we can have really varied meals rather than just salad.I‘m still getting to grips with the terminology, what the different symbols mean and how to structure my meals but I’m definitely getting there. It seems so complex and confusing at first but once you get your head around it, it’s pretty easy to follow. I might follow this up with a Beginner’s Guide/Getting Started with Slimming World kind of post if that would be helpful? Let me know in the comments below.
Las week wasn’t a great week for staying on plan. We went out for a meal for my sister in laws birthday, then a night on the town for my cousins 18th, so far too many syns were consumed but I did do a serious amount of dancing so that will have made up for it a little!
Breakfast has been pretty easy. I’ve been having a Muller light with fruit most days. I really didn’t think this would fill me up but if I’m still peckish I’ll just add more fruit to increase my Speed Foods.
On the mornings when I’m starving, or going to the gym I’ll have something a bit more substantial like scrambled eggs & spinach instead. I never used to really like the texture of spinach but shredding it first makes a difference for me.
This is the one I’ve struggled with. I’ve gotten into the habit of not bothering to cook just for myself, and as I work from home I’ll tend to just snack throughout the day. I’m making sure I have lot’s of lunch options that are super quick.
I use my Healthy Extra A for my milk for my cups of teas so will include all the syns for the meals below
- Chicken breast with new potatoes, spinach & baby corn (both Speed Foods)
- BBQ pulled pork with sweet potato wedges (Syn Free)
- Speedy chicken & vegetable rice (Syn Free)
- Creamy chicken pasta (Syn Free)
- Cajun Chicken with spicy wedges (Syn Free)
- Homemade lasagne (Syn Free if using reduced fat cheese as Healthy Extra A )
- Beef Bourguignon with swede mash (1 1/2 syns per serving)
