I’m really enjoying making Slimming World recipes. Cooking from scratch and eating lot’s of fresh, healthy food. Even the hubby has said how much he’s enjoying my Slimming World recipes, eating proper meals again.This Slimming World pasta sauce is a great base for lot’s of meals, spag bol or meatballs. I’ve used it lot’s of times for different meals and added a few extras in from the fridge whenever we have a bit of veg going spare that needs using up.
I’ve added chopped fresh tomatoes, courgettes, carrots & celery, basically anything that needs using up. Plus it bulks the sauce out to make it go further. It even freezes really well and is Syn Free too.
- Low Cal Spray
- 1 large onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 tin of tomatoes
- 3 tbsp tomato puree
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- salt & pepper
- Chop the onions & crush the garlic and fry lightly in a pan with a couple of sprays of low cal spray oil
- Add the tin of tomatoes, puree & Worcestershire Sauce
- Bring to the boil then reduce the heat
- Simmer for about 15 mins
If you’re going to use this recipe for a Slimming World Spag Bol then you need to add the mince after the onions and before the tomatoes, then depending on any extra veg you might be using then you may need to add a little water too. If it needs watering down to thin it a little then I tend to chuck in a stock cube too so it doesn’t lose any flavour.
This is such a super versatile recipe that I go back to time & time again.
