I’ve said it in a few posts recently but I’ve been a very lucky blogger the past few months with lot’s of amazing opportunities, one being invited to a Baking Masterclass hosted by the Wilmslow Kitchen Cookery School, Kenwood & Currys PC World.
Running my own cake business means I’m baking every week, however it’s cakes, cupcakes and occasionally cookies so I was so excited to be baking meringues, Swiss roll & the most divine chocolate tart ever.
The Wilmslow Kitchen Cookery School is a gorgeous little venue, totally GBBO with the pastel colour scheme & bunting. Then after seeing the Kenwood kMix I was in baking heaven before we even turned the oven on.
The afternoon flew by and was so well structured with demonstrations by Sarah and the team. The instructions were so easy to follow & really helped build my confidence so I was happy to just dive straight in.
I was lucky to be paired with the lovely Claire at Sitting Pretty & we made a fab team, our meringues were stiff & peaky, our Swiss rolls were spongy & oh so pretty, and the chocolate tart, well I pretty much inhaled it! I’ll be posting the recipes over the next few weeks so keep an eye for these as you really need to make them yourself.
The Kenwood kMix was so impressive, I really appreciate the details on it especially as I use an electric mixer pretty much every day. I have a compact Kenwood mixer which I use for making buttercream as the lid stops the icing sugar going everywhere, but my large mixer is one I bought from Aldi. It does the job but it’s not a patch on the kMix. The mechanism is so much smoother with a wide range of settings for different bakes, and that glass bowl. Well you might not think it makes a difference but it really does, especially when baking meringue as you need to see how the mixture turns fluffy & expands.
We even received our own kMix handheld mixer to take home, I’ve already given it a little try out & I love it already plus it looks soo pretty on my Welsh Dresser in the kitchen.
