I have soo many clothes but I always end up grabbing the same type of outfit out of my wardrobe, a simple tee & jeans or jumper & jeans. Nothing exciting, nothing thoughtful, just whatever is warm & comfy for doing the school run & working from home.
Actually, tell a lie. I have two types of outfits. Going out out or staying in. Super glam or pretty basic, nothing really in between.
I feel pretty scruffy most days which doesn’t do a lot for the self confidence but on the flip side, I just don’t see the point in getting dressed up when I’m leaving the house twice a day, both times to simply to my son’s school. But I want to look more put together, and I want to have other options if I’m grabbing a coffee with my mum friends or maybe the odd lunch date with the hubby.
I really want to update my wardrobe & putting some style into my outfits, but… I don’t want to be spending a fortune on the actual updating.
I need to have a huge clear out, get rid of the clothes I don’t wear anymore. I need to start putting different types of outfits together from the clothes I’m keeping. AND buy some new clothes, although when I say new I mean new to me not actually brand new clothes.
Yep that’s right, I’m setting myself a #CharityShopStyleChalenge. If I’m going to be spending money on clothes then they need to be second hand, picked up from charity shops, maybe eBay or Depop not my usual one stop ASOS online order.
I actually love having a nosy around the charity shops, my mum & I have whole shopping days when we ONLY go into charity shops. My usual downfall is buying things because they are cheap or going for the same type of items reverting back to my jeans & jumper type outfits.
I’m going to be using this challenge to try different styles, to break out of my style rut & go in a new direction. Maybe going for prints, shirts, skirts or dresses.
I want to try out something other than skinny jeans or leggings. Maybe introduce some pattern, some colour, just something different.
I’m actually really excited for this Charity Shop Challenge & can’t wait to post out outfits on the blog & my insta.
Wish me luck guys & don’t forget to follow me over on my socials, Instagram, Facebook & Twitter to keep track of how I get on, and if you want to join in then use the hashtag #CharityShopStyleChallenge & I can keep track of your posts too!
