protein-french-toast-recipe (3)

I‘m on the hunt for yummy but healthy meals to stop me becoming bored and resorting back to eating crap so when I came across a Protein French Toast recipe I knew it was definitely one to try, especially as I’m back in the gym on a regular basis so need to up my protein intake. I did tweak it as the original recipe uses almond milk, truvia and egg whites. Personally I don’t think it needs sweetening up especially if you’re going to put on a topping plus I used the full eggs as I find just the whites to bland. I used Icon Nutrition Cinnamon Vanilla Swirl Whey Protein but any vanilla protein would taste just as good and you could always sprinkle a little cinnamon on top.

This is such an easy breakfast idea and will be our Sunday treat instead of a bacon or sausage butty, even the Teenager had a slice and really liked it.

Looks yummy. I love French Toast, and love the idea about adding protein to make them a bit healthier and not just carby. #tastytuesdays

Never tried protein powder before – probably because I’m a gym phobic cake lover, maybe I should put the cake down and get the protein powder out instead!

Protein powder are good and there are quite a few good ones around. I know I use Icon if I can. I’ll be honest though I have never understood bananas on anything. Lol. The picture made me squirm.
