I have so many ‘summer dresses’ that I just don’t seem to get enough wear out of.
Instead of putting them in the loft with the rest of my summer clothes, I’ve kept them out to restyle & get so much more wear out of them. Here’s how to take your dresses from summer to winter
OVER A LONG SLEEVED TOP
It’s so easy to wear something underneath in any colour to match your dress. I’m wearing a black long sleeved bodysuit underneath this gorgeous leopard print dress. That extra layer underneath not only looks fab & changes the look of the dress, it also keeps you so much warmer.
UNDER A CHUNKY KNIT JUMPER
You can totally change the look of a dress by popping a chunky knit over the top. This gives the look of a skirt so not only answers the question of how to take your dresses from summer to winter but actually extends your wardrobe as you don’t need to buy additional skirts.
WITH BLACK TIGHTS
Probably the most obvious one but I always forget about the black tights that are in the back of my drawer. Obviously those tights don’t need to be black, any colour that matches your outfit are perfect.
WITH OVER THE KNEE BOOTS
I love my Dr Martens & wear them with most dresses so can forget about over the knee boots instead. I love over the knee suede boots but always tend to wear them the same way, over a pair of jeans. An easy way to keep those legs warm when wearing a dress is with those boots.
WITH FAUX FUR ACCENTS
There’s just something about a faux fur gilet that just screams winter style. Super stylish & also super warm too for those days that are chilly but not quite freezing yet.
Normally I would have only worn this dress one way, I’m so glad I’m trying to think differently about my clothing & getting so much more wear out of them. I’m really thinking about sustainability & styling from season to season, only buying clothing that I’ll wear again & again. I’m so glad I’ve figured out how to take your dresses from summer to winter.
