We’ve been saving hard to be able to convert our loft for the Teenager. We’re still no where there yet but I’m starting to think about exactly what we want from the loft conversion as it’s going to be a huge expenditure we want to do it right!

The loft won’t be a huge space so we’ll really have to think about using the space well and incorporating as much storage as we can, both for the Teenager’s things but all the other extra bits we’ll need to store up there.

I’m loving all the shelves & built in cupboards into the eaves, the office space is a must. The Teenager will need work space for studying for his GCSE’s but also when he actually leaves home *sobs* I’ll take over the loft as my official work space for running my business, Handmade Queen from home.

Currently it’s totally bare brickwork and I’d like to leave at least the chimney breast wall in the brickwork, it adds so much character. It’s not the biggest space & I want it to be bright & airy with the big VELUX windows & blinds with a light colour scheme but I don’t want it to just be a white box. We also want some fab radiators to match the ‘loft’ style which will be a beautiful design feature that will suit Brandon but will also create a design that will last past his teenage years.

Brandon can’t wait for us to start, hopefully we’ll have enough saved to start next spring then he’ll be in his new room by the summer & Archie will finally be out of our room!

I love the first pic Toni — that’s just lovely!! Loft conversions are so costly but so worth the money if you get it right. I think that storage is key — you’ve just got to utilise every little corner!! I can’t wait to see what you do, when you get around to it! Exciting! 🙂 Thanks so much for linking up with #HomeEtc — hope to see you again next week! x

It will definitely be worth it for us as we’re planning on staying in our house for the long term, so even once the kids move out we’ll make use of the space 🙂
