If you haven’t heard of linkies or are unsure of what they are then listen up. A linky is basically when a host blog invites other blogs to link up a post, with the purpose of giving the linker and host, additional blog traffic and comment love.
Here’s my linky badge as an example. In order to ‘link up’ you simply copy the code below the badge & paste it into the HTML of your blog post.
It’s really simple once you know how! I remember trying to link up to my first over at Honest Mum and getting so confused because I didn’t know what I was supposed to do with the code. I have to message her as I couldn’t find the right code and then I was pasting it in the wrong place. I didn’t realise about the ‘text’ or ‘html’ section when writing a post!
You then need to click the ‘add you link’ button of the linky you want to join (example above) which will take you to a page similar to the below to add the details of the post you want to link up.
For a blogger they are a great source of inspiration, a way of building relationships with other fab bloggers and also a great way of generating traffic, although you never never link dump and run. Linkies are only successful when you share the love. If you want people to view & read your blog then you’ve read and comment on others too.
For a reader they are a fab source of inspiration, I especially love seeing other people’s recipes and meal idea. I’ve also gotten some great ideas for at home activities to do with Archie as well as gaining a ot of support from other bloggers with Archie’s Autism Journey.
I don’t link up to all the linkies each week, I just link to whichever is relevant to my blog posts that week. These are the linkies I love:
#RecipeRoundUp – The linky I run, if you haven’t heard of it then pop over and have a nosy
And finally there’s a monthly Bloggers Home linky too
I’ll continue to add to my list when I come across new linkies. If you run a linky I haven’t mentioned then feel free to leave me a comment 🙂
