There’s just something about this dress that scream 90s to me. I definitely had a wrap dress with this tiny ditsy flower print back in the early 90s.Although I’m sure mine was a purple or lilac colour & I loved to wear it with a floppy velvet hat with a brooch. I know, I totally rocked the look haha!
However I’m definitely loving this style of dress again. I grabbed this one in the recent New Look sale for only £14. I wasn’t sure if I would actually suit it but I thought sod it, I’m pushing my fashion boundaries so I’m getting it.
I know this dress isn’t exactly high fashion or haute couture but for me it’s a big jump from my usual mum uniform of leggings & a jumper!
I adore how the dress looks with my black ankle boots & biker jacket. This is the first time I wore this jacket. I saw it in the ASOS sale (I clearly love a sale don’t I?) it was reduced from £90 down to £27 so I had to have it. The boots I’m wearing are currently in the sale too, £25.50 reduced from the £32 I paid. I’ve linked them at the end of the post.
As it’s so cold I wore a long sleeve body underneath the dress as it has short sleeves, plus it’s a bit booby & low cut with it being a wrap dress, so the top underneath just takes it through winter & without the top throughout summer. And you cannot go out in this weather without the thick black tights, well I can’t anyway. My legs would be blue with the cold!
I’ve totally gotten my wear out of this already, especially for the price. It will look amazing with my Converse too, or maybe with a thick jumper thrown on top to give it the look of a skirt. I cannot wait to wear it with my floral embossed Dr Martens that the hubby is getting me for my birthday, also linked below. That’s the thing I love about these types of dresses, there’s just so many options on how to style it.
What would you wear with this dress? Would you go for my mum style or for something totally different?
