We love us some BBQ food in our house, but I didn’t realise how easy it is to make slow cooker BBQ pulled pork with a few staple ingredients I always have stashed at the back of the pantry.

It uses really simple ingredients and is literally a throw together recipe you can prepare in the morning and have a gorgeous meal at the end of the day. We had our with sweet potato wedges and salad. Yum!

  • 1.5kg pork shoulder, trim off all the fat
  • 1 tin of tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves of garlic or 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 5 tbsp bbq sauce, we used the squeezy ketchup type one & it works fab
  • salt & pepper
  1. literally put all the ingredients except the pork in the slow cooker & mix well
  2. add the pork and spoon over the sauce
  3. cook for about 5-7 hours turning the pork & spooning over sauce every couple of hours
  4. once cooked allow to cool for about 15mins before pulling apart with two forks on a chopping board
  5. mix with some of the sauce when ready to serve

      I’ve seen the Slimming World recipe but didn’t have the right ingredients hence why I made up my own ?

    I make this a lot and have been feeling it is missing something. I think it is the balsamic vinegar!! I’m going to give it a try. Thanks!

    My slow cooker is a life-saver especially as my husband works shifts. I always thought pulled pork was really difficult and fancy but apparently not
