Some week’s are just downright bloody hard work and this week has been one of them. We’ve been making some big changes to Archie’s bedtime routine to try and get some sleep and have moved him into a big boys bed, which as expected is making things worse before they get better. The hubby had an accident early one morning on his way to work, he came off his bike and now battered & bruised and nursing a couple of broken ribs. Later that day the Teenager was also in a mountain bike accident and has broken his collarbone.
So amongst the trips to A&E, looking after my two patients, running around after a crazy toddler, walking the dog, doing all the housework and trying to run a business I’m a completely knackered, but…
I’m sat here in my kitchen, with a brew & a Bakewell Slice in absolute peace & quiet. The toddler’s snoozing away upstairs in his new bed, the Teenager has gone to his girlfriend’s to watch a movie & the Hubby is feeling a bit better so has gone to a friend’s to watch the football with the boys.
I’m so happy my boys are ok, it could have been so much worse. It’s taken a good week to get Archie to settle in his new bed but he was asleep in under ten minutes tonight. Yes, I’m utterly shattered but I’m grateful that my little family is happy & healthy.
Now time to crack on & get these two cakes decorated, this business isn’t going to run itself. There’s no rest for the wicked but everything is so much better with cake (hence why I’m a baker & cake decorator), and I might even save a slice for each of my three boys!
