I guess we all want more readers, your goal might not to blow up to be the biggest blog ever but we wouldn’t be writing if we didn’t want someone to read our blogs. So here’s How to use Bloglovin’ to get more readers. #bloglovin'

I guess we all want more readers, your goal might not to blow up to be the biggest blog ever but we wouldn’t be writing if we didn’t want someone to read our blogs. So here’s How to use Bloglovin’ to get more readers.

What I love about Bloglovin’ is it allows your followers to stay up to date with your latest posts on their feed. Every time you write a new post, Bloglovin’ automatically posts a preview in your followers’ feed. Your followers can simply click on the post to read it, like it, or save it for a later time. Your followers can also click on your blog and see all your posts at once which is a great way to use Bloglovin’ to get more readers.

I think most of us love free stuff for promoting our blogs, especially if you don’t make much money through your blog, if at all. Having a free marketing tool that will attract new followers as well as keeping your audience updated on when a new post is live is perfect.

Not only can your followers keep up to date with your blog but they can follow lots of different blogs on there. It makes it so much easier to have all the blogs you love to read in one place.

Another great thing about Bloglovin’ from the bloggers perspective is you can see which posts were more popular. It’s great for figuring out what type of content your readers love & what you should be focusing on to keep your readers coming back post after post.

Bloglovin’ users can search for blogs by category or see other blogs that are similar to the ones they are already following. This will help new readers find your blog much more easily. Let’s face it, you’ll want readers that are interested in your niche and what type of content you are producing.

In the top bar in Bloglovin’, scroll down underneath your bio photo to Widgets. Copy and paste the HTML code into your sidebar for new readers. One click and they’ll be subscribed to all future posts! How great is that?!

By default, Bloglovin‘ imports the first image from your post as the ‘title image’ in your followers’ feeds, unless you have a specified ‘featured’ image on your post. Either way you need to make that image “pop” as it will be what everyone on Bloglovin’ will see when scrolling through their feed.

You really need to use a vertical image as it will be much larger in the Bloglovin’ feed and catch more people’s attention as they’re scrolling through, especially if they follow lots of blogs. You want an image that really stands out & makes people want to know more about your post.

It works in a similar way to Pinterest, you want that vertical image to make people look twice. On Pinterest it’ll make them want to pin your post, on Bloglovin’ you either want the, to click through to your blog or save it to read later. You can read more about Pinterest here.

Statistics have shown that 8 out of 10 followers will read a headline but only 2 out 10 will actually read the post.

There is so much information online. As bloggers, we constantly have to be asking ourselves – why should somebody want to read this article? You could have the most amazing content but if your title is “Let’s Chat About Instagram” it may not draw as many readers as “3 Basics to Boost your Instagram” (But never ‘exaggerate’ the content you’re actually delivering, it’s a great way to lose readers!)

This is something I’ve only recently learned after a few years of blogging, there’s always something else to learn. On your own Bloglovin’ blog feed, hit “Share” then “Pinterest.” This way, when a pinner clicks your image in Pinterest, your Bloglovin’ profile opens up displaying thumbnails of all your wonderful posts. They may be more likely to ‘follow’ right away. l’ll have to admit I don’t know how successful this is at the mo as I’ve only recently started try it

Create a username and password by entering in your email address or by connecting your Bloglovin’ account with your Facebook.

A great way to grow your following via Bloglovin’ is to Claim Your Blog. Every blog has an RSS feed (a simplified version of your posts that users can subscribe to.) This is simple to do following the instructions on the following Bloglovin’ help page.

Bloglovin’ is such a great way to search and connect with other similar bloggers. From your homepage on Bloglovin’ you can search for your favourite blogs & add them to your follow list. Or you can search by category for new blogs or blog posts.

Once you’ve followed some of your favorite blogs, you can click on My Feed in the top bar to be taken to your new feed – full of the blogs you are now following. For each new blog post published – you’ll see an image, a title, and a short description of the blog post. You will see 4 choices underneath: Like, Save, Share and Mark as Read.

SAVE is a great feature! You can come back to blog posts for when you have more time to dig deeper into them. Once you save posts, you can create collections to categorize them for easy viewing.

SHARE is another great function. When you read a post you love, hit “Share” and choose how you would like to share with your friends.

Otherwise you can simply click through & just read the post direct.

What do you think? Do you already love Bloglovin’ or will you be signing up?

If you loved this post why not Pin It for later, or share with your friends

I get NO readers from Bloglovin anymore 🙁 Readers open my posts in the app and it doesn’t translate to a visit on my page – so they’re essentially taking my page views? HALP x x

Really? I’ve just checked your blog on Bloglovin’ & it only shows the excerpt. I have to click ‘original post’ to see the whole post & it takes me to your blog. Maybe there’s been a glitch with your RSS. Double check again & let me know what happens for you x

I’ve been signed up to Bloglovin for ages now but I don’t think I really get any views from it. I should look into that really.

I think, thanks to your post I am going to make it a priority this week to get working on it. Thank you x

I started using Bloglovin years ago, I still get a little traffic from it but to be honest I barely ever log in any more.

I often forget about Bloglovin. I signed up a long time ago but probably should aim to look at it again and and see if I am getting much traffic from it.

To be honest, before I read this post I hadn’t heard of Bloglovin, I’ll definitely check it out and how I might be able to use it to generate some new readers.

Some great tips, I have to confess I haven’t really used Bloglovin’ as much as I could. It has been low on my list of priorities but I must have a proper look now and follow some of your ideas.

I had a Bloglovin account when I started blogging, but I can’t remember my password so I haven’t used it in years 🙂
