So this is a bit of a new feature for me. I’ve been really wanting to write more fashion posts on the blog but I’m really struggling with the photography. I just don’t have anyone to take my photos for me, hence the selfies. Then I just don’t feel like I’m getting the right or the best shot to show off the outfit properly.
But I’m going to push myself more. I’m going to head into Manchester with my camera & my tripod & take some street style shots myself, and hope to god no one runs off with my camera!
For this week’s ‘Weekday Wardrobe’ I’m cheating a little bit as I’m not using photos from this whole week, some are from last week as well. But as of next week I’ll be pushing myself to get out of my mum uniform of leggings & jumpers & start planning my outfits more.
Totally my quick go to type outfit, a slogan tee & jeans, but something I want to break the habit of. I tend to just grab the same things over & over again without putting any thought into it.
I just didn’t see the point of making the effort if I was just going to be working from home, or running errands. But I’ve got so many clothes I just don’t wear because of this so I’m going to start wearing whatever I want no matter what I’m doing instead of worrying about being overdressed.
This outfit was actually a funeral outfit. We lost my beautiful Auntie Freda so I really wanted to make the effort for her as she always looked so lovely. I would probably wear this same outfit again as I did love it, especially the shoes gifted to be from JD Williams.
I adore the trousers & will pair them with a white tee & converse to give it a casual, everyday look.
The lovely Vee from Vees Thrifty Finds on Instagram posted this top on her Insta story & I love a leopard print so couldn’t resist it.
I absolutely adore this gypsy blouse. I picked it up from the charity shop for £2.99, a total bargain. The acid wash jeans were a charity shop find over a year ago. I’ve only just been able to fit into them. I loved them so much I just had to cling on to them until they fit me one day, and now they do!
This was a huge first for me, I’ve never paired a sweatshirt with a skirt before but saw it on the lovely Love Lucy Instagram, she’s so good at putting outfits together plus her boutique is amazing. I’ve been in a few times but if you can’t get to Chorlton, Manchester then she does have an online shop too. Not an ad at all, I just love the items she stocks.
One thing I will remember for next time, is to tuck my sweatshirt in so I don’t look like I’ve got a pregnant belly! But other than that I’ll definitely start pairing skirts & jumpers more often.
