I am loving getting into the habit of taking photos for my ‘Weekday Wardrobe’. Well, more the fact that I’m thinking about my daily outfits more & pushing myself out of my usual mum uniform.
My style has changed so much over the past twelve months. I’ve gotten a more recognisable style I think. People have told me about clothing that is ‘totally me’ which is something that is totally new to me.
I’ve always wanted to wear headscarves & Dr Martens but just wasn’t confident enough which now sounds so daft to me now. They have almost become my trademark & I get so many compliments about my hair now. I can’t believe it’s taken me to be almost 40 to wear what I WANT to wear.
I really have managed to break the cycle of just throwing on jeans & a tee everyday. I know I have to take my Outfit Of The Day photo for my Insta Stories & my Weekday Wardrobe posts so I’m thinking about my outfits the night before. I used to do this everyday when I worked in an office but working from home meant I just threw something comfy on. Especially as now my boy has moved to a special needs school out of our area, he gets transport to school so I no longer do the school run.
I finally built up the courage to actually head out with my tripod & got some fab shots so this week’s weekday wardrobe is a mixture between selfies & tripod shots. I’ll write a separate post on exactly what i did to get my shots, so many people have been asking me when I shared it on my stories.
So, onto the clothes. Here’s this week’s ‘Weekday Wardrobe’.
Ok, ok. I know my first photo is jeans & a tee and I said I wasn’t doing that but I love this NASA tee & I did go for a contrasting leopard belt.
- T-shirt from H&M
- Mom Jeans from ASOS originally but I picked them up from a charity shop
- Trainers from Superga originally but again, a charity shop buy for £4.50
This is one of the shots I took myself with my tripod, I love it! I can’t believe it took me so long to build up the courage but I’ll definitely do it again. I love this outfit, it is just jeans & a tee but the jacket just elevates the whole look. I’ve written a post on How to Rock Leopard Print Like a Mama so head over & read that post!
- Jacket originally from Next but bought at a charity shop
- T-shirt pinched from the hubby but is this Rebel Sound tee from eBay
- Jeans as above
I spotted this maxi in a charity shop. It looks really baggy with no shape to it at all on the hanger but I adored the pattern so had to have it, especially for £4.25! I figured it would look fab synched in with a belt not realising it had a drawstring waist. Love love love this dress.
Another charity shop buy, the tags have been removed so I’ve no idea where it’s from originally but the first dress below from Very is really similar.
Today was a little dressier than usual as I was invited to afternoon tea at The Ivy in Manchester with a fashion boutique called Libellula. Another blogger was kind enough to take some fab style shots for me. You can see more photos of this whole little bit vintage little bit grunge look by reading the post.
- Dress F&F at Tesco – sorry it’s not online as it was in the sale but I’ve linked some similar below
- Boots from Dr Marten
I didn’t realise I wore my NASA t-shirt twice in one week, I did wash it though. I love a tee, skirt & trainer combo so much.
- T-shirt from H&M
- Skirt from Primark
- Shoes from Superga as above
