Blogging has become a huge part of my life and my daily routine. Blogging has become my job, it’s become a part of me, my character & our lifestyle. But why? Why do I blog?
Some reasons now are very different to when I started, some reasons are exactly the same.
I BLOG FOR ME.
It’s my therapy. I don’t often write very personal posts but sometimes I just write. It kind of pours out of me like when I wrote Missing the Milestones. Sometimes I don’t really know what I’ve written until I finished writing and read it over myself.
These posts are the most therapeutic, these posts are the ones when other parents comment with their experiences. Where we find support in each other’s writing. Where you realise other parents are going through the same thing and you can help & advise each other.
I BLOG FOR THE SUPPORT NETWORK.
Working from home means you get barely any adult interaction. Through blogging & social media I get the interaction we all need. Other bloggers are always there with a post to make you smile, one to make you cry, one to make you feel that you are not completely alone.
They are there to chat & to laugh, to meet up at events and go for drinks. I never thought when I started blogging that I would make so many real friendships, and I’m so glad I have. You girls & guys know who you are!
I BLOG FOR WORK.
When I first started blogging I never even knew it could be a career let alone expected it become my career. I’ve been self employed for almost four years but only recently moved into full time blogging.
I still have my cake business Handmade Queen, but my amazingly talented sister now runs this. I still make the odd cake for my regular customer and family & friends but not as my main business anymore. Blogging has well & truly taken over, it works much better for us a a family. I’m earning more through my blog than I did with my cake business, with the added bonus that I can truly work around the kids. I truly feel that I’m forging a career and building a business, I’ve always been a #MumBoss but I’m really owning it now.
I BLOG BECAUSE I LOVE IT.
Blogging started out as a hobby and still is. I love writing, I love taking photos & editing, and now I’ve also fallen in love with vlogging (go check out my YouTube channel). It’s amazing that my hobby is my job. It’s so much more hard work now, with long hours and a lot of admin but I love it.
Vlogging is a very new thing to me, I only launched my YouTube channel last week but I can’t wait to get more involved.
I love learning new things through blogging. I love that I can fully utilise my background in marketing and design. I love that I’m getting to put the knowledge from my degree into action.
I blog because I love everything about it. What about you?
