Recently we’ve been really struggling to get Archie to eat, he has such a restricted diet due to his sensory & texture issues so I’m on the hunt for some yummy snack ideas to try & tempt him away from his beloved toast & mashed potatoes. As he seems to prefer light coloured food I’m going try & introduce snacks that are not too different to what he will currently eat. Baked banana & apple chips are going to be one of the first I try as I think these might be he’ll be most likely to try.
He will also very occasionally eat Mini Cheddars so I’m planning on baking some homemade cheese crackers too, although I think these will probably be eaten more by the hubby than the toddler but I’m wiling to give it a try!
Another snack he likes, but I don’t like to give him often are Gummy Bears, but only the orange ones, the rest get sorted by colour then thrown on the floor. So instead I’ve found a recipe for fruit juice jelly shapes that I want to try. I’ll start off making orange/lemon one then try & introduce other flavours so as not to overwhelm him and introduce too much too soon.
I can’t wait to get trying out these ideas. If you’ve got any favourite snack ideas or recipes then feel free to leave me the links in the comments below.
